Location

The small village of Kaffatorp is situated 2km north of Arkelstorp, which is one of the main villages of the Kristianstad municipality approximately 20km north of Kristianstad town. Kaffatorp is surrounded by beech tree woodlands and is situated at the edge of the coniferous woodlands that cover the main part of Sweden.

The facilities in Arkelstorp include a supermarket, bank, garage, pizzeria, bakery, restaraunt and a small pub.

The landscape around Kaffatorp is remanicent of the mountainous regions of Northern Sweden and the unique landscape of Gotland. Most of the nature types in Sweden can all be seen here within an area of 20km sq.

Nearby there are lakes of different sizes, ski-slopes, running tracks, white sandy beaches that have a full range of facilities.

In the summer, you can swim in many of the lakes or in the sea, with the possibility of renting canoes a few kilometers away. Further activities include fishing and riding on Icelandic ponies.

The right of public access in Sweden gives the right to wander in the woodland, pick berries, mushrooms and fish (fishing licences needed for most lakes can be bought in the village.)

The cottages are situated off the main road and are suitable for families with children or those wanting to experience the peace and quiet of the Swedish countryside. Wildlife close to the cottage includes squirrel, deer and numerous types of birds. The rich fauna in the area includes rare species of orchids.
